Hoopfest Weekend begins Friday night with THE ALUMNI GAME, FANFEST and HOPFEST

On Friday, June 23, a day full of events and activities serves to kick off Hoopfest Weekend with a bang.

When the doors open at 5pm for THE ALUMNI GAME, FANFEST presented by Washington Trust Bank will begin its festivities, which includes activities and contests that cater to all ages.

Last year’s FANFEST featured a bouncy house, a face-painting booth, life-size games such as Connect Four, Tumbling Tower, Snakes and Ladders and more family-friendly activities.

At 7 pm, THE ALUMNI GAME will tip-off featuring former Gonzaga men’s basketball players taking on former University of Washington men’s basketball players. Check out this year’s rosters*!

The game promises a strong and competitive affair between the in-state rivals.

If you need a break during the competitive, re-ignited intrastate rivalry, check out HOPFEST @ Hoopfest, your Official 5th Quarter Headquarters. Local and regional breweries will be there to quench the thirst of Hoopfesters 21 and older.

Gather your teammates and friends for a night full of fun at THE ALUMNI GAME where you can experience FANFEST presented by Washington Trust Bank and HOPFEST @ Hoopfest.

“We want to continue to build out our programming to offer things that are fun and exciting. So those folks who are coming in from out of town, maybe they come a bit earlier to take advantage of the other things that are happening,” Hoopfest’s Executive Director Matt Santangelo said. “For the local folks who maybe don’t want to come down on the weekend because of the enormity of Hoopfest, maybe they can come enjoy Hoopfest in a way that is different than the weekend tournament.”

For just $20, you will have the opportunity to experience all three events Friday night. Portions of the proceeds from the event will be going to the Watts Foundation and Hoopfest’s own programs, such as our youth outreach program, Ignite Basketball Association (IBA).

Tickets are on sale now at Ticketswest.com, but don’t wait! Last year, tickets sold out fast. Get your tickets and help us tip-off the Best Basketball Weekend on Earth at THE ALUMNI GAME.
