Sea Gal Alexis, a product of Spokane’s West Valley High, earned a psychology degree from WSU and just completed a master’s degree in school counseling at Gonzaga.
Now the former Cougar dance team member is starting her first season as a Seattle Seahawks Sea Gal. Alexis and her squad held hourly performances and signed autographs on Saturday for fans at the Toyota Shoot Off event at Hoopfest.
Alexis is enjoying life on the west side of the state after six years of college and is excited about being part of the team which fires up the fans at CenturyLink Field.
“Being an NFL cheerleader is a completely different experience,” said Alexis. “I just feel honored to represent the city of Seattle. I feel like in Seattle that the fans are with us 100 percent, no matter what, and that’s what I love about the area.”
Toyota is a long-time sponsor of the Shoot Off, which gives contestants the chance to win a new car if they make a shot from a distance of 47 feet. Those who enter pay a $10 fee for three attempts, the proceeds of which help out the Hoopfest charities.
Qualifiers who have made shots over the first three days of the Shoot Off will square off in head-to-head quarterfinal and semifinal rounds before Sunday’s finals at 3:30 p.m. at Spokane Falls Blvd. and Howard. The winner earns a new Toyota Corolla S.
