SportsCenter at Hoopfest

RS1519_ESPN_BW_Pos-scrOver a quarter of a million people on the streets of downtown Spokane: 28,000 players, 7,000 teams, 3,000 volunteers, 225,000 fans. And as of Hoopfest 2015, one ESPN SportsCenter crew.

You read it right. The largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament on the planet has caught the attention of the Worldwide Leader in Sports. We are ecstatic to be welcoming the SportsCenter team to Spokane for its first time this June.

Wishing you had registered your team for Hoopfest? Rest assured—spots are still open but are going quickly. It’s not too late to grab your shoes, your teammates, book your ticket, pack the minivan—do whatever it takes to make it to Hoopfest 2015!

If there was ever a year that you were finally going to give that Toyota Shoot-Off a whirl or show off that signature dunk or play for that Loser King T-shirt once more, this would be the year.

Hoopfest doesn’t happen on its own though. We still need volunteers to help put on this year’s 3-on-3 spectacular. Looking for some sweet Nike gear? Or maybe the jump shot is a little rusty but you’re still looking for a way to contribute to the heartbeat of Hoopfest? Either way, volunteering is a great way to be out in the city and enjoy the glory of Hoopfest.

Wherever and however you’re involved, we want to make SportsCenter’s trip to Spokane memorable. Help us out!

ESPN isn’t the only highlight new to Hoopfest this year. If Hoopfest weekend is like Christmas morning, then begin to think of the Friday before Hoopfest as Christmas Eve. The decorations are up and the gifts are wrapped but the anticipation is too much to stand. You just have to get a sneak peak. So this year you can: check out Hoopfest’s first ever Friday Practice Round, June 26 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can get out the pre-game jitters before you start playing Saturday morning and take advantage of our practice courts that will be set up. And while you’re there, you can partake in our inaugural HOPFEST at Hoopfest beer garden.

So stay tuned… more details to come on ESPN SportsCenter, Friday Practice Round and HOPFEST at Hoopfest.
